On 15 April, the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering and the Committee for State Control, Use and Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the Government of St Petersburg, have signed a cooperation agreement. The signing ceremony was attended by SPbGASU Vice-Rector for Research Evgeny Korolev and Chairman of the KGIOP Sergey Makarov.

“The Faculty of Architecture has been cooperating with KGIOP for many years. This agreement extends the validity of the previous document and takes our interaction to a new level,” commented Ekaterina Vozniak, Dean of the SPbGASU Faculty of Architecture.

The parties plan to transform the KGIOP basic department at the university into a corporate one. Its activities will develop in four directions:

• training of qualified personnel with competencies for restoration of cultural heritage sites;
• assistance in the development of new educational programs of all levels and types in accordance with the requirements of the regional industrial labor market and the current level of tasks in the field of restoration of cultural heritage sites;
• strengthening the research and intellectual potential of SPbGASU, improving and developing high quality standards of educational and scientific activities;
• ensuring the integration of education, science and production as the most important condition for improving the quality of training of personnel with higher education.
