On 26 April, the SPbGASU Admissions Committee held a career guidance event “Building the Future Together.” Its participants included 450 schoolchildren from Chelyabinsk, Yoshkar-Ola, St Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

At the opening of the event, Vice-Rector for Educational Activity Sergey Mikhailov said: for the 2024 admissions campaign, SPbGASU will provide applicants with 1,799 budget places, which is 200 places more than last year. The university implements 200 educational programs at all levels - bachelor's, specialist's, master's, postgraduate, and continuing professional education. All of these programs have state accreditation, and many have successfully passed professional public and international accreditation.

SPbGASU students from the "Kirpich" Student Creativity Club performed for the guests with a literary and musical composition dedicated to Victory Day.

An employee of the admissions committee, student Aleksandra Danilova, held a dialogue platform “All about SPbGASU”, where she spoke about the details of admission to the university and student life.

The program included a tour of the university and master classes that introduced the children to the world of professions.

The master class “Heat and gas supply and ventilation” consisted of two parts. Associate Professor at the Department of Heat and Gas Supply and Ventilation Kirill Sukhanov introduced schoolchildren to virtual reality glasses, wearing which they can “walk” around a virtual “house” and find out how ventilation and heating work there. Then the guests saw various heating devices. “The  SPbGASU Department of Heat, Gas Supply and Ventilation is 125 years old. This is the oldest department in Russia in this profile,” emphasized Viktor Pukhkal, associate professor at the department.

The master class “Water supply and sanitation” introduced the structure of a pumping station. “The station unit allows you to pump water from the reservoir to the water supply system. Here you can touch the basics of design,” said student of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Municipal Services Evgeny Suvorov.

Samples of asphalt concrete, including colored ones, were shown at the “Highways” master class. “Here you can see, touch, and even take a piece of crushed stone with you,” said Oleg Kozlov, a member of the laboratory at the Department of Roads, Bridges and Tunnels.

“We plan to hold such a festival throughout the year, and to the final event we invite the most active schools with which we cooperate under agreements: these are schools where they conduct TIM classes, automotive and construction classes. Today we also invited employees with children from partner organizations: the investment and construction group "MAVIS", the St Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise of Passenger Road Transport, the Education Committee of the Administration of the Lomonosov Municipal District of the Leningrad Region," said Elvira Tkachenko, Deputy Executive Secretary of the SPbGASU Admissions Committee.
