Structure (Faculties)

SPSUACE provides education for specialists at BSc and MSc levels as well as for graduated engineers and architects, scientific and teaching personnel (PhD and DSc levels). The University is composed of seven faculties of study (each one led by a dean) the first six of which are full-time:

•   The Faculty of Architecture
•   The Faculty of Civil Engineering
•   The Faculty of Environment Engineering
•   The Automobile and Road -Building Faculty
•   Economics and Management Faculty
•   Urban Construction and Public Utilities Faculty
•   Correspondence Faculty

Faculties are sub-divided into 49 chairs or departments.

Also the University has:
Preparatory Department for Russian and foreign applicants (where annually about 350 foreign applicants come to study);
International Education Faculty (see General Information for Prospective Students) which is responsible for receiving foreign students and allocating them to different faculties and chairs of the University according to their desire in regard to specialty;
International Linguistic Centre which entitles foreigners to learn Russian before they enter the University;
Postgraduate Department which offers numerous research programmes in various fields for young specialists (both Russians and foreigners) who are granted PhD and DSc academic degrees after they have defended their theses;
 
International Relations Department engaged in cooperating with foreign scientific centres and different higher education establishments which results in different cooperation agreements;

The Advanced Training Institute with an impressive portfolio of postgraduate and research degree (PhD and DSc) programmes in 11 fields related to modern trends in construction, architecture, economics, ecology and transport;

hostels located in the centre of Saint-Petersburg where Russian and foreign students get accommodated;
sports and resting facilities and a dispensary (health centre);
in-house publishing and printing services;
several information technology centres with modern computer equipment and unlimited internet access;
Scientific-Technical Library, one of the oldest technical-scientific libraries in Russia with over 800 000 volumes, devoted to architecture and engineering, continually being renewed with new scientific publications, periodicals and learning materials;
History Museum devoted to the history of the University ;
as well as several other departments providing learning process and scientific activities.
