The main activity of the SPbGASU Institute for Continuing Education and Professional Retraining is training under the programs of professional retraining, advanced training, specialized courses and information and education seminars. Educational programs of the Institute of Continuing Education help specialists in the construction, housing and communal and road sectors to improve their professional level.

The Institute for Continuing Education has one of the best educational and material bases in St Petersburg, including spacious lecture halls and laboratories equipped with the latest equipment, modern software systems, and an exhibition hall. Classes are conducted by experienced teaching staff using advanced learning technologies.

All students are provided with a set of information and reference materials. Upon completion of study, students are issued documents of the established form (certificates of continuing education, diplomas of professional retraining), in accordance with the completed curriculum.

The Institute for Continuing Education opened a Driving school. Classes are conducted by experienced teachers of the automotive departments of the Faculty. Practical training classes are held in all districts of St Petersburg. After graduation and passing internal exams, a certificate of completion of a driving school is issued and an opportunity is provided as part of the examination group to take exams at the examination department of the traffic police in St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

The Preparatory Center of the Faculty of Architecture as part of the ICE was created to prepare schoolchildren for entering the university for architectural specialties, to expand the horizons of citizens in the field of theory of arts and architecture, and to improve the cultural level of young people. Training is carried out in full-time (daytime and evening) form of education, as well as in the "Intensive" mode during school holidays in full-time and remote mode for students from other cities.
