On 17 May, the book exhibition “Dachas Construction of the Late 19th – Early 20th Centuries” opened in the reading room of the SPbGASU Scientific and Technical Library.

Books and periodicals from the SPbGASU STL fund introduce the history of dacha housing construction, architectural styles in design, historical descriptions of dacha projects, as well as restoration and reconstruction projects. The exhibition presents about 50 projects of old dachas.

The heyday of dacha construction in Russia came at the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th century. This time was very fruitful for Russian architecture. Many famous architects created projects for dachas and dacha complexes, which combined the traditions of folk wooden architecture and the Art Nouveau style.

The exhibition is open from 17 May to 19 June in the reading room (office 217).
