Participants will traditionally be offered several dictation options, each consisting of 40 closed-type questions, divided into two parts according to the degree of difficulty. More than 60% of the tasks included in the main version of the dictation were composed by non-professional authors and received as part of the "Write your own question for a geographical dictation" contest. The dictation novelty in 2022 was thematic competitions dedicated to the Year of Folk Art and Cultural Heritage of Russia.
