The St Petersburg House of Nationalities, with the support of the Committee for Interethnic Relations and the Implementation of Migration Policy of the Government of St Petersburg, is holding a creative competition for foreign citizens, “Multifaceted Petersburg”.
The competition is held in four nominations: vocals, choreography, instrumental performance and artistic words. The main condition of the competition is the performance of speech and vocal numbers in Russian, choreographic and instrumental ones - to the music of Russian (Soviet) composers.
The competition is organized for the purposes of social and cultural adaptation of foreign citizens in St Petersburg, preventing the formation of ethnic enclaves and social exclusion of certain groups of citizens.
Competition program:
- 20 September, 2024 – applications deadline;
- 27 September, 2024 – competitive audition and selection of winners (venue – to be agreed);
- 22 October, 2024 – gala concert and award ceremony of winners (venue – Russian Ethnographic Museum).
In addition to the main program of the competition, it is planned to hold a photo competition “OBJECTIVEly about St Petersburg” (a story about multinational St Petersburg through landscapes and portraits, accessible to all city residents) and an essay competition “Heroes with us” (dedicated to the Great Patriotic War).
The competition is open to foreign citizens aged 18 and over; there are no age restrictions in the essay competition. The winners of the competition will be awarded with commemorative statuettes, diplomas, certificates (gift cards for purchasing tickets to the theatre and/or excursions).
