The Russian Science Foundation (RSF) announces an open public competition for grants from the Russian Science Foundation for the event "Conducting initiative research by young scientists" of the Presidential program of research projects implemented by leading scientists, including young scientists, of the priority area of activity of the Russian Science Foundation "Support for young scientists".
Grants are allocated for fundamental scientific research and exploratory scientific research from the moment the results of the competition are announced until 30 June 2027.
Application deadline: 17:00 11 March 2025.
A grant amount: up to 1.5 million rubles annually.
Grants are allocated for the implementation of scientific, scientific and technical programs and projects selected based on the results of a competition, providing for the conduct of fundamental scientific research and exploratory scientific research in the following fields of knowledge:
- Mathematics, computer science and systems sciences;
- Physics and space sciences;
- Chemistry and materials sciences;
- Biology and life sciences;
- Basic research for medicine;
- Agricultural sciences;
- Earth sciences;
- Humanities and social sciences;
- Engineering sciences.
The scientific research (project) must be aimed at solving specific problems within one of the areas defined in the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation, which will allow obtaining scientific and scientific-technical results and creating technologies that are the basis for the innovative development of the domestic market for products and services, a stable position for Russia in the foreign market, and will ensure:

H1. Transition to advanced digital, intelligent production technologies, robotic systems, new materials and design methods, creation of systems for processing large volumes of data, machine learning and artificial intelligence;

H2. Transition to environmentally friendly and resource-saving energy, increasing the efficiency of extraction and deep processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, formation of new sources, methods of transportation and storage of energy;

H3. Transition to personalized medicine, high-tech healthcare and health-preserving technologies, including through the rational use of drugs (primarily antibacterial);

H4. Transition to highly productive and environmentally friendly agro- and aquaculture, development and implementation of systems for the rational use of chemical and biological protection of agricultural plants and animals, storage and efficient processing of agricultural products, creation of safe and high-quality, including functional, food products;

H5. Counteracting man-made, biogenic, socio-cultural threats, terrorism and ideological extremism, as well as cyber threats and other sources of danger to society, the economy and the state;

H6. Connectivity of the territory of the Russian Federation through the creation of intelligent transport and telecommunications systems, as well as taking and maintaining leadership positions in the creation of international transport and logistics systems, the development and use of outer space and airspace, the World Ocean, the Arctic and Antarctica;

H7. The ability of Russian society to effectively respond to major challenges, taking into account the interaction of man and nature, man and technology, social institutions at the current stage of global development, including using the methods of the humanities and social sciences.
The competition is open to projects by researchers aged up to and including 33 years at the time of the application deadline, holding a PhD degree, regardless of the position and citizenship of the researcher.
SPbGASU participants must coordinate the competiton documentation with the Division of Scientific Work.
