The selection for the internship "Open Smolny 2.0" for students and graduates of higher education institutions is now open. It will be dedicated to the development of a new tourist geography of St Petersburg. Participants who pass the selection will be able to offer their ideas for expanding the city's excursion routes this spring.
The topic of the internship "Open Smolny 2.0" is "Multifaceted Petersburg: opening new city routes". Participants will get acquainted with the activities of the Committee for Tourism Development of St Petersburg and its most interesting projects, including the work of the city tourism portal Visit-Petersburg.ru. The internship will allow them to discuss their ideas and developments with relevant government bodies in an open dialogue mode. The best of the participants will be able to continue cooperation with the committee, their proposals will be taken into account in development projects for the coming years.
More than 200 people have already taken part in the project, some of them work in the civil service. The last internship was held in November together with the Committee for Culture of St Petersburg. Many guys continued their cooperation with the authorities, becoming co-authors of articles on the portal "Culture of Petersburg", as well as the first junior volunteers of "Manezh". Thanks to the spring internship with the Committee for Tourism Development, young specialists will practice on real tasks, find new solutions and approaches for the development of urban tourism.
Applications from potential participants are accepted on the website карьернаясредаспб.рф until 12 March, 2025. All those wishing to participate must fill out a questionnaire and also write an essay on the topic “Multifaceted Petersburg: opening new city routes.”

The internship is organized by the Committee for Civil Service and Personnel Policy with the support of the Committee for Tourism Development of St Petersburg.
"Open Smolny 2.0" is a project of the Committee for Civil Service and Personnel Policy of the Administration of St Petersburg, aimed at attracting talented and motivated young people to the executive authorities of the city. Internship participants study the experience of colleagues from various departments of the Administration of St Petersburg and themselves propose ideas for the development of certain areas of city life. The authorities take the best proposals into account in their work.
