SPbGASU scientists were awarded the St Petersburg Government Prize
On May 27, the birthday of the Northern capital, the traditional ceremony of awarding the winners of the St Petersburg Government prizes for outstanding achievements in the field of higher and secondary vocational education took place in Smolny.

Among the laureates is Professor of the SPbGASU Department of Construction Mechanics, Doctor of Technical Sciences. Yuri Rutman and associate professor of this department, Ph.D. in Technical Sciences Nadezhda Ostrovskaya. They were awarded in the nomination "Scientific achievements contributing to improving the quality of training of specialists and top-qualification personnel" for their joint monograph "Dynamics of Structures: Seismic Resistance, Seismic Protection, Wind Loads".
The awards were presented by the governor of the city Aleksandr Beglov.
“Aleksandr Dmitrievich graduated from our university, the Faculty of Civil Engineering, where I had the honor to work,” says Nadezhda Ostrovskaya, adding that she is grateful to the government for appreciating her work.
Yuri Rutman is a visiting professor of the Department of Construction Mechanics, a member of the Federation of Cosmonautics and the Scientific and Technical Council at the Center for Seismic Construction. Among the scientific interests are the theory of elasticity, the theory of plasticity and the dynamics of structures. He was awarded the medal "Veteran of Labour" and the badge "Inventor of the USSR", has participated in about 50 scientific conferences and is the author of 37 inventions. He is a member of the council for the defense of doctoral and master's theses D 212.223.03 at SPbGASU. In 2022, the scientist celebrated his 90th birthday.
Nadezhda Ostrovskaya is a participant and organizer of more than a dozen scientific and technical conferences, forums and seminars. She specializes in the mechanics of a deformable solid body, as well as the dynamics and stability of structures. Three times she became the winner of the St Petersburg Government award in the field of scientific and pedagogical activity (in 2012, 2013 and 2014).
