Two years ago, on 21st February, 2015,by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation a new State holiday was constituted – the Day of Russian students’ teams, and in 2016 the Day of Russian students’ teams was celebrated for the first time at the state level.
In spite of the fact that this holiday is absolutely new, students’ teams have had more than semi- centennial history and they are like the school of professionalism, leadership, courage and selflessness for many students now.
The history of our university, city, country is inseparably linked with the history of students’ building teams of the Leningrad construction institute (nowadays SPSUACE) which has been a talent foundry for students’ teams of the city for many years. The majority of commanders, engineers on safety precautions, chief engineers and foremen were students, post-graduate students and teachers of our high school; the rest - representatives of other high schools who passed school of foremen which worked on the basis of the Leningrad construction institute.
Today there are more than 70 students’ labor teams in St.-Petersburg with more than 2000 students, and there are headquarters of educational institutions with nine basic directions of function: building, pedagogical, agricultural, medical, archaeological, search, teams of train conductors and ecologists. According to veterans of the movement and its participants, students’ teams gave them a unique chance to feel responsibility for performance of serious tasks and help their mates in any situation.
The management of the St.-Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering sincerely congratulate all members of students’ teams of the university on this holiday and express gratitude for the invaluable contribution to work of this powerful, developing movement! You become real professionals, capable to cope with the most difficult work and to solve the most non-standard problems! Watching your work and successes, we again and again are convincing that students’ teams are necessary, since they bring up, teach how to live, transform children into united, friendly collective and make students’ years bright and unforgettable! Keep it up!!
