On December 27, 2019, the Department of the Russian Language held a New Year’s holiday for foreign students of the preparatory department of SPbGASU. The participants of the festival played a quiz on the knowledge of the sights of St. Petersburg, sang songs and couplets, recited poems in Russian.
The role of Santa Claus was performed by a first-year student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Zhan Siyang. Trainee Ksenia Zykova played the role of Snegurochka. Strict but fair Grandfather Frost was very pleased with the knowledge that the students demonstrated and awarded everyone with gifts.
One of the brightest shows was the Russian folk tale “The Turnip”. Amateur artists approached the matter creatively, thanks to which the fairy tale got new colors: Grandma was very confident in her beauty, and Cat called Mouse for help on her mobile phone. An unusual interpretation of the tale caused a storm of applause from the audience.
During the celebration, the chairman of the Council of International Students, a fourth-grade student of the Faculty of Architecture Navindu Deravaža invited foreign youth to events of the association, especially highlighting the Conversation Club
The New Year event was not only fun, but also quite informative.
