A freshman won the competition for young scientists
On September 15, a scientific and practical conference "Prospects for the implementation of innovative methods and modern digital technologies in urban transport and road traffic" was held in Novosibirsk. The conference was organized by the Scientific Research Institute of Road Transport (OJSC "NIIAT") by order of the Ministry of Transport of Russia.

Within the conference, a competition of scientific works of young scientists "Young personnel of motor transport science" was held among students, graduate students and teachers of colleges, universities, employees of research organizations aged 18 to 35 years. The theme of the competition was organization and safety of road traffic. The purpose of the competition was to raise the status of a young scientist, to popularize science as a field of activity.
In the nomination "Our goal is road safety", the first place and the prize was won by the SPbGASU first-year student Ivan Beshentsev, studying at the faculty of automobile and road building, program 23.03.01 "Transport processes technology".
✔ Ivan presented his work "Master plan for improving road safety as a crucial point of urban development". According to the author, the topic of his work was road safety which a key issue for any city.
“When I heard the announcement of my victory, I felt proud of myself and SPbGASU,” Ivan shared.
The stages of the master plan proposed by Ivan should be implemented out in a certain sequence: traffic flows should be correctly routed on the streets; physical and mental measures to calm the movement should be developed; the efficiency of pedestrians, cyclists, electric scooter drivers, public transport shoul be increased. In addition, Ivan proposes to introduce programs to improve road safety, i.e. Vision Zero, "Safe Vehicles".
