A joint online presentation of SPbGASU and PolesSU took place

On June 20, the first joint online presentation of summer schools and exchange programs of SPbGASU and Polessky State University (Republic of Belarus) took place. PolesSU is a new partner of our university: the universities are currently working on concluding a cooperation agreement.

The speakers presented their universities, sharing their history, information about the fields of study and opportunities that open up for students, including academic mobility programs. Svetlana Petrova, head of the SPbGASU International relations division, spoke about the exchange program in which PolesSU students will be able to take part (the training period will be from one to two semesters), emphasizing that there are many representatives of the CIS countries among foreign students of SPbGASU. “We will be glad to see you within our walls,” she added.

The exchange of students and teachers between universities is possible due to the interfacing fields of study. Thus, both educational institutions provide training in landscape architecture, information technology, economics and management.

Head of the SPbGASU department of computer science Aleksey Semenov spoke about the directions of study at the department, about students mastering modern programming languages, VR and AR technologies. Separately, he focused on students mastering competencies in the field of digital modeling, which have become an important part of engineering professions.

Yaroslav Lipsky, assistant of the PolesSU Department of information technologies and intelligent systems, devoted his speech to training in the field of information systems and technologies, talking about the scientific and engineering laboratory, where students, together with teachers, develop applications, websites, databases and blockchain technologies.

At the end of the meeting, the parties presented summer schools, which are held on the basis of universities. Associate professor at the SPbGASU department of architectural environment and landscape design  Aleksandra Eremeeva spoke about the successful experience of last year's international online school on Arctic architecture, organized in cooperation with the University of Hokkaido (Japan). Within its framework, the participants were expected to have discussions, workshops and the development of their own tourism infrastructure projects in the Arctic under the guidance of curators. This year the school will be held from 4 to 15 July in a mixed format. Another international school will take place in full-time format in the fall, from September 12 to 23, and will be dedicated to the redevelopment of industrial zones in St Petersburg.

Yulia Tikhonovskaya, assistant of the PolesSU department of marketing and international management, invited students to take part in the summer startup school of the university, where participants will acquire skills in the field of project activities, have the opportunity to develop and defend a business idea and try themselves as a new generation manager. The school is part of the PolesSU start-up movement, which also includes the competition of innovative projects for young developers "Pinsk Invest Weekend" and a start-up camp for schoolchildren.{gallery name="полес"}
