A Peace Street to be created at SPbGASU
SPbGASU students under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Department of Architectural Engineering Konstantin I. Kolodin create a model of Peace Street. This street will pass around the globe, uniting countries and peoples.
“Peace Street is a space that has no borders – neither political, nor territorial, nor state, nor religious. It passes through countries and continents, through the seas and oceans; it goes around the globe several times. It is the longest street in the world. All peoples and nationalities will live on it. There are no wars there; people live in peace and are happy. They live here, work, fall in love, and raise their children. There are factories, enterprises, residential buildings on this street,” K. I. Kolodin said.
The street is a large bridge that is leveled up. Buildings are located on it; at the bottom of the bridge, there are transport communications. The upper part is reserved for people: there will be pedestrian roads, hanging gardens. This is a unified system in which people live and work.
The project idea arose in 2017 after a terrorist attack in the St. Petersburg metro. Learning about the tragedy, students were looking for a way to express personal attitude to what had happened. K. I. Kolodin invited them to create a Peace Street. Currently, about 100 students of different courses are working on the project on a voluntary basis, in their free time.
