The All-Russia Labrary Day is celebrated on 27 May. It was established by Decree of the President of Russia in 1995 and timed to coincide with the foundation day of the first public library in our country in 1795 - the Imperial Public Library (now the Russian National Library).
In the era of digitalization, libraries keep up with the times, look for new opportunities for development, and transform the usual forms of work. At the same time, they preserve the cultural and intellectual heritage of the country and remain the most important social, educational, enlightenment institutions.
The SPbGASU Scientific and Technical Library is one of the oldest university libraries in our country. It was established in 1832 at the foundation of the School of Civil Engineers. At that time, its fund consisted of 95 titles.
Today, the SPbGASU STB is a multidisciplinary space for gaining knowledge and self-realization. Its funds contain more than 1 million publications on construction and architecture. Users have access to domestic and foreign databases of electronic publications.
Congratulations to librarians on their professional holiday!
