

The exhibition hall of the SPbGASU Faculty of Architecture is hosting Vladimir Antoshchenkov's exhibition "Life in Unison".
The exhibition dedicated to the author’s 90th birthday presents his creative works: photographs and graphics.
Vladimir Antoshchenkov is a member of the Union of Photographers of Russia and the Union of Artists of Russia. In 1957 he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Leningrad Civil Engineering Institute (now SPbGASU). In 1959 he started the LISI PhD studies with a degree in Urban Planning and in 1964 defended his thesis “Transportation routes in residential areas.” Since 1962 he worked as assistant, since 1973 - as associate professor at the department of urban planning at LISI. For more than 30 years he led the training workshop.
He began to study photography in 1974, when he made the first series of photographs about Leningrad. Vladimir Antoshchenkov is the author of 28 personal exhibitions and participant in more than 50 group exhibitions in Russia and abroad, 15 photo albums.
The exhibition was organized by the joint efforts of the SPbGASU divisions: design studio, scientific and technical library, Department of Drawing, Department of Architectural Environment Design.
The opening ceremony was led by the head of the SPbGASU scientific and technical library Elena Romanova. The symbolic ribbon was cut by the first vice-rector of the university Svetlana Golovina and a student of the Faculty of Architecture working at the design studio Taisiya Kiryanova.

The hero of the day was awarded the “Civil Architect” badge. On behalf of the SPbGASU rector Evgeny Rybnov, the dean of the Faculty of Architecture Ekaterina Vozniak handed over the award to the relatives of Vladimir Antoshchenkov.
Colleagues, students, and admirers of his talent said kind words to Vladimir Antoshchenkov.
As Ekaterina Vozniak said, Vladimir Antoshchenkov’s whole life is connected with our university. This is a wonderful teacher whose students have reached great professional heights.

Valery Mostovich, associate professor at the Department of History and Theory of Architecture, spoke about the creative collaboration of Vladimir Antoshchenkov with Svetozar Zavarikhin, an architectural critic, publicist and teacher.

Fedor Perov, associate professor at the Department of Architectural Design, spoke about the bright personality of Vladimir Semenovich, who made a great contribution to the development of the university’s architectural school.
Vladimir Demin, head of the Urban Development Policy Department of the Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of St Petersburg, who has known Vladimir Antoshchenkov for almost 45 years, shared his memories of his years of study.
Aleksandr Roshchin, a member of the Union of Russian Photographers, expressed confidence that the cultural, photographic, architectural experience of Vladimir Antoshchenkov will continue to be in demand.
Svetlana Bochkareva, SPbGASU chief architect, associate professor at the Department of Architectural Environment Design, graduate of Vladimir Antoshchenkov’s workshop, spoke about her mentor’s long-standing dream - to translate creative ideas into a more durable material so that they can decorate the streets, boulevards, and squares of our city.

Vladimir Antoshchenkov thanked the organizers of the exhibition by video link and talked about how his ideas were born.
The exhibition will run until 21 September. The organizers invite guests to share their impressions in a guest book, which will be later given to the hero of the day.
