Career Days - 2020 at SPbGASU are over

A series of events under the general title Career Days – 2020 at the St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering has completed.

Assessment session of the Automobile and Road Building Faculty

The second week of the program started with a master class “You decide what to be! The secrets of a successful career start,” where Marina Fedorova, a specialist from Superjob, told students about what is essential when looking for a job, what points they should focus on when writing a resume, and how to use the resources of their site. Students could compose their resume online and get advice on improving it.

The assessment session held on February 25 for students of the Automobile and Road Building Faculty was worthy of special attention.

✔ Assessment is a comprehensive assessment of the psychological and professional characteristics of applicants for compliance with the requirements of the proposed official positions.

Representatives of more than 10 companies from various areas of the automotive business attended the event. The students were asked to find a solution to the problem in advance and present it to employers.

After in-person defense of the projects, each participant had an individual interview, as a result of which students received job offers.

At the presentation of the Orchestra Design Architectural Bureau, its executive director Marina Dobychina spoke about their new company and its projects, among which is the Oktava creative cluster in Tula and renovation of Lenin Square in Elabuga. At the “Sociocultural communications in the design of public spaces” lecture, Orchestra Desing architects, SPbGASU graduates Yevgenia Zheltukhina and Anastasia Zavada brought examples of how they work in concert with residents to create a comfortable urban environment in small historical cities and rural settlements.

Within the framework of the Career Days third-grade students of the “Technology of Transport Processes” educational program could attend an excursion to the Directorate for the Organization of Road Traffic in St. Petersburg organized for them and got acquainted with the structure of the organization and saw the machine room of the Traffic Control Center and assess its technical capabilities. Then, a specialist from the informatization department Dmitry Popov gave a talk on “Automated traffic control systems”.

The final stage of the Career Days was on February 27, when the second in the SPbGASU history online job fair took place. It was held for graduate students and for those who want to combine study and work. The online format made it possible to participate in the event not only to employers from St. Petersburg, but also to companies from other regions. They offered students their vacancies for permanent work, internships and practical trainin.

44 companies with 166 offers and more than 150 students registered for the fair. As a result of the it, 40% of registered participants received an job offers.

As practice shows, Career Days are a good opportunity for students for additional professional orientation, positioning in the labor market, bettering their employability skills and self-presentation.
