Congratulations from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Valery Falkov
Dear veterans, my dear countrymen! Please, accept my congratulations on Victory Day!
This is an important and exciting holiday for every inhabitant of our country. It has always been the highest example of patriotism and fidelity to duty.
Victory was forged by all the Soviet people. From the first days of the Great Patriotic War, hundreds of outstanding scientists went to the front. Among them were philosopher Anatoly Butenko, historian Vyacheslav Dashichev, economist Evgeny Kapustin, archaeologist Pavel Shults and many, many others.
In the army and in the people's militia, teachers and students of Soviet universities fought the enemy. Many of them remained forever on the fields of the Great Patriotic War.
Scientists from all over our country worked in the rear. Among them were microbiologist Zinaida Ermolyeva, chemist and metallurgist Andrey Bochvar, physicists Igor Kurchatov and Anatoly Alexandrov, mathematician Mstislav Keldysh.
In the hardest conditions, the Soviet nuclear project was implemented. The selfless work of scientists made it possible almost immediately after the end of the war to achieve nuclear parity and ensure state sovereignty.
The current generation of scientists faces a similar task - to ensure the technological independence of Russia.
To this end, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education is taking measures to accelerate the training of engineering and technical personnel, attracting young scientists to research and development, and improving the national system of higher education.
Dear friends! The ongoing events clearly demonstrate how important it is to know the history of one's country.
Modern warfare is fought not only on the battlefield, but also in the minds of the people. They seek to deprive us of historical memory, to leave us without roots, to destroy the foundation of the nation. And therefore, more than ever, it is important to continue scientific historical research, to popularize high-quality historical knowledge.
Each of us needs to remember how hard the Victory was, to honor the great deeds of our multinational people.
It is our duty to the memory of heroes to live and work for the good of our great Motherland, which they have preserved for us.
My low bow and heartfelt gratitude to our veterans and home front workers.
Congratulations! Happy Victory Day!
Congratulations from SPbGASU Rector Evgeny Rybnov
Dear veterans, teachers, university employees, and students! Please, accept my cordial congratulations on the occasion of the Victory Day!
9 May is a special date that combines heartache about irreparable losses and great joy. With deep gratitude and respect, we bow our heads to our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers, who bore all the hardships of the war on their shoulders and brought the Great Victory.
Every year there are fewer and fewer witnesses and participants in those events. Our duty is to keep the memory of the heroes, thanks to whom we have the opportunity to live, work, build the future.
Dear friends, on this sacred date, I wish you and your loved ones good health, peace, kindness, confidence in the future, and success in your work for the good of our Fatherland!
