Current issues of management in construction were discussed at SPbGASU
On November 25–26, St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering hosted the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference “Current issues of Management in Construction” for the first time. The organizer was the Department of Management in Construction.
Beside representatives of SPbGASU, the conference was attended by delegates from St. Petersburg State University of Communications, Tyumen Industrial University, Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Military Academy of Logistics, Donbass National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Lugansk State University, Research and Design center of the General Plan of St. Petersburg.
Opening the conference, the Dean of the SPbGASU Faculty of Economics and Management, Galina Tokunova, DSc in Economics, outlined the main topical units proposed to the conference participants. A wide range of issues relevant to the construction industry was discussed.

Professor of the Department of economics and management in construction of St. Petersburg University of Communications, Sergey Oparin, Doctor of Technical Sciences shared the results of research on the concept of tolerance development and its application in economics and management.
Head of the Department of scientific and methodological substantiation of urban development of St. Petersburg of the Research and Design Center of the General Plan, Svetlana Ershova, DSc in Economics, spoke about the priorities of housing construction in megacities and regions of the Russian Federation.
Head of the Department of management of construction organizations of Donbass National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Mikhail Ivanov, DSc in Economics, presented a report on "Problems and prospects of managing the construction complex at territories with newly formed statehood in a wartime." It was about the problems faced by the construction organizations of the Donetsk People's Republic in present-day conditions.

Associate Professor of the Department of Construction Management, SPbGASU, Sergey Bovteev, PhD in Technical Sciences, shared his experience in analyzing the management structure of a restoration and construction enterprise (using the example of MATIS LLC).
Associate Professor of the Department of Construction Economics and Housing and Utility Infrastructure, SPbGASU, Sergey Shirshikov, DSc in Economics, presented overall conclusions on European experience in applying BIM technologies in construction and researching the prospects for the Russian construction industry.
✔ The conference attracted not only teachers and practitioners, but also young researchers: among the master's reports there were presented papers of this year's undergraduates. The experience they gained at the conference will help them better prepare for their thesis defense.

For example, SPbGASU undergraduate, head of the capital construction department of JSC "Petersburg Oil Terminal" Aleksei Bogdanov made a report on the problems of managing projects for reconstruction of port's logistics infrastructure without stopping its main activities.
Yulia Elshina, a SPbGASU graduate student, a representative of MATRIX LLC, gave an overview of IT systems for planning and managing construction projects.
Master student of Tyumen Industrial University Raisa Akmalova made a report on the features of the functional analysis of key economic indicators of construction activity in Russia.
Svetlana Ershova has assessed the conference as follows: “I want to express my gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity to take part in the discussion of such topical and crucial issues. An interesting discussion of the presented scientific reports, a professional dialogue of specialists have become a "professional training space" for young scientists who are just starting their scientific career. I wish the organizers of the conference further success and hope to continue our cooperation.”
Mikhail Ivanov emphasized: “The conference was held at a high professional and organizational level and became a significant event in the field of management in construction industry. The topic of the conference is very up-to-date. In a short time, we found answers to all our questions, learned a large amount of material. Given the development trends in the construction industry with its constantly changing rules, emerging new regulators and requirements, the value of the conference only increases.
The hospitality of the conference organizers from St. Petersburg, mutual understanding and sincere atmosphere made it possible to create a working mood and achieve an effective exchange of experience, the development of constructive proposals for further interaction in the field of management development in the construction industry, as well as cooperation between the Departments of construction management of SPbGASU and the Department of management of construction organizations of Donbass National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture.
Summing up the results of the conference, Head of the SPbGASU Department of construction management, Natalia Pletneva, DSc in Economics, noted: “Let me hope that such a conference will become a tradition and will be a space to share results of completed researches and to make conclusions, to test scientific works issues and to find the necessary solution in a discussion.”
