Day of Solidarity Against Terrorism

The Day of Solidarity Against Terrorism is commemorated in Russia on September 3. The memorable date was established in 2005 by the Federal Law “On the days of military glory of Russia” and is associated with the tragic events in Beslan.

During these events, which took place on September 1–3, 2004, terrorists held hostages in a Beslan school. The attack killed 334 people, including 186 children. Hundreds of people were seriously injured, some got disabled for life.

Terrorism is a cruel crime. Society should not remain indifferent to terrorist threats. On the Day of Solidarity Against Terrorism, the citizens of our country bow their heads in memory of all the victims of terrorist acts and express their determination to fight against its manifestations.
