Defender of the Fatherland Day
On February 23, our country celebrates Defender of the Fatherland Day. For St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, this date is of particular importance: during the Great Patriotic War, students, graduate students, staff and teachers of Leningrad Civil Engineering Institute (later SPbGASU) participated in the defense of Leningrad, fought at the front, worked in the evacuation. From 1952 to 1958, the university had a special naval faculty (SVMF) to train military civil engineers. Having received the rank of lieutenant engineer, SVMF graduates were engaged in the construction and operation of naval bases.
Many SPbGASU representatives served in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Congratulations to all who defended, defends and will defend our Motherland! We wish you peace, kindness, health, good luck and success in all your endeavors!
