On September, 8th, 2016 St.-Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering accepted a delegation of the University of Namibia. The delegation: the rector of the university Lazarus Hangula; the pro-rector on researches, innovations and development Kenneth Matengu; the head of the chair of sea sciences Franc-Mikael Adam; the dean of the faculty of Applied sciences and computer technologies Frank Kavishe.
It has been the third visit of representatives of the University of Namibia for the last two years.
During the meeting the visitors told about the work connected with the creation of Faculty of Architecture of the University of Namibia, in particular, about the beginning of projects’ competition on construction of its building. In spite of the fact that the faculty building is in a working stage, training of architects is planned to begin in February, 2017
Possible participation of teachers of SPSUACE (including, remote) in educational process of the University of Namibia (carrying out online lectures, consultations) and also in examinations and even defenses of scientific works was discussed at the meeting.
The delegation visited the faculty of architecture of SPSUACE. During the previous visits the guests were shown the university museum and library where the breadboard models created by students of SPSUACE were presented. The models made a big impression and were remembered. This time the visitors were shown a new showroom in the architectural building where a senior lecturer of the Chair of Architectural Design, the candidate of architecture, Konstantin Ivanovich Kolodin told about a breadboard model of a campus of the university in Venice, executed by a group of students under his supervision for participation in the competition in Italy.
Cooperation with the University of Namibia is planned to develop in future.
