24 May celebrates the Slavic Script and Culture Day. This holiday is associated with the names of the holy Equal-to-the-Apostles brothers Cyril and Methodius - Slavic enlighteners, creators of the Slavic alphabet, preachers of Christianity, the first translators of liturgical books from Greek.

The Slavic word was first honored in Moscow in 1862. In the same year, the monument “Millennium of Russia” was unveiled in Novgorod the Great, which depicts the images of Cyril and Methodius.

The holiday reminds us of our roots, that each of us is a bearer of a centuries-old culture.
