Developing science together

The development of innovative and digital technologies in civil engineering, prospects of the Russian economy in the framework of the sixth technological structure, and other pressing issues were discussed at the First Inter-University scientific and practical conference “Economics and Management: Trends and Prospects”, held on February 2–3, 2020 at SPbGASU.

Conference participants

“This is an important event for our faculty, as we hope that today we’ll give start to a long-time tradition of the exchange of ideas among students, postgraduate students, young scientists from different universities of the country. They will face the problems of the economy of the future and look for solutions.” said at the plenary meeting acting Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management Victoria Vinogradova.

The conference was initiated by the student scientific society of the SPbGASU Faculty of Economics and Management. Its head, Yuri Tsvetkov, spoke about its early stages: “When we came to the idea of a conference last fall, we had no doubts that the inter-university community would support us, but we could not even imaginee that this support would be so potent! From mid-January to mid-February, we received about a hundred applications for participation. I hope this is far from our last meeting. We are ready to cooperate and promote science together.”

One of the ideological inspirational figures of the conference, member of the SPbGASU Council of Young Scientists, postgraduate student Artemy Taranov shared his views on the event:

“We wanted the conference to be functional not only to the speakers, but also to the audience. So that they would have known about new developments, research, take away something new, learn to defend their point of view. This is important for a young scientist.”

Representatives of SPbGASU, Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, NRU ITMO, Leningrad Regional Branch of St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, A.I. Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University, St. Petersburg University of Management and Economics Technologies, North-West Institute of Management of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University ("LETI") attended the conference.

The work at the conference was divided into sections of construction and general economic topics. The subject of discussion was BIM and GIS technologies, 3D printing in construction, innovation promotion management in the construction market and other relevant issues.
