On 24 and 25 June, the SPbGASU Faculty of Automobile and Road Building undertook an independent assessment of qualifications for graduates of the bachelor's degree program 23.03.03 Operation of transport and technological machines and complexes (profile "Automobiles and Automobile economy").

SPbGASU has been participating in a pilot project for the third year to combine state final certification and independent assessment of qualifications. For this purpose, an examination center has been created as part of SPbGASU, which is part of the Qualification Assessment Center of the industrial cluster "Union "Avtoprom North-West"".

An initiative group of graduates passed a professional exam for compliance with qualification 31.00400.04 “Master of the repair area for maintenance, repair of motor vehicles (ATS) and their components” (6th qualification level). Representatives of the Union "Avtoprom North-West" and managers of service stations of one of the partners of the union and SPbGASU - the federal network of service stations "EuroAuto" - acted as independent invited experts.

On the first day, graduates went through a theoretical stage in the form of testing. According to its results, 90% participants were admitted to the practical part. Everyone coped with the practical stage, which took place on the second day at the training car service center as part of the interdepartmental laboratory of the Krasnoe Selo training site.

Thus, 18 graduates passed the independent assessment this year.

Representatives of the partners of SPbGASU and the Union "Avtoprom North-West" - St Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise "Passenger Avtotrans", the AvtoVAZ Engineering Center, recently opened in St Petersburg, and the EuroAvto Academy were invited to the practical stage as observers. Before the practical part of the professional exam, they participated in a round table, where issues of developing the human resources potential of the automotive industry, further cooperation and improving end-to-end project training were discussed.

During the event, SPbGASU graduates were able to demonstrate their knowledge and skills to employers, and university teachers made conclusions about what adjustments need to be made to educational programs to improve their practice orientation and compliance with current requirements. Industry representatives were convinced of the high level of training at our university and discussed further cooperation with it.

The GIA-NOK project is planned to continue in the next academic year. It will include qualifications such as warranty engineer, automotive technical department engineer and vehicle design engineer.
