Expanding the horizons

On March 03, 2016 Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering participated in the 8th educational exhibition “Education horizons”.

Future school-leavers now have to make one of the most difficult decisions – they need to choose a profession. To make a choice there were organized numerous professional orientation events. At Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering, for example, there is a special programme “Become a student for one day”, within the frame of which schoolchildren can visit the university and professional orientation lectures. The university also participates in various education exhibitions.

The exhibition “Education horizons” which was organized under the supervision of the Committee for education of Saint Petersburg and Legislative assembly took place at Saint Petersburg city Palace of youth art at the concert hall “Carnival”. Over 50 educational institutions presented their education programmes to senior schoolchildren and their parents and teachers at the exhibition. The exhibition programme was rich of different events: topical seminars, trainings, tests in foreign languages, business games. But what is more important it was a good opportunity for all to communicate with representatives of educational institutions, learn about interesting education programmes, entry scores, necessary documents and sports activities.

This year at the education exhibition the admission committee was supported by students of the Faculty of Forensic Expertise and Legislation in Construction and Transport Maria Bolshanina, Olga Romochkina, Vladislav Gaydar. Representatives of the higher education institution answered questions of the future students, told about the faculties, developed courses, Days of open doors, bachelor and master degree studies.
