On October 26, 2018 ‘From Learning Language to Learning the World’ round table organized by the Department of Foreign Languages was held in SPbGASU.
Teaching staff and scientists of leading Russian high schools, representatives of Saimaa University of Applied Sciences, University of Manchester, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and guests from China and Republic of Congo.
First Vice Rector Lugovskaya: ‘Second language skills extend people’s possibilities. They increase academic mobility, allow to study abroad, read books and watch films in foreign languages. Scientists can read academic literature and write for international journals. You have made right choice to learn languages before and now other people’s fate depend on the way you teach them. I wish today’s event will be useful for you’.
The participants discussed communicative competence formation based on Russian literature among non-philological students, theoretical and practical analysis of stereotypes as an essential part of cross-cultural communication, connection between intelligence and thinking in foreign language learning and more.
