Elena Aleksandrova, Director of the Institute of Part-Time Studies
In mid-March, the Institute of Part-Time Studies held a graduation ceremony awarding 483 diplomas of higher education, including 244 Bachelor’s and 119 Master’s degree diplomas. Four Bachelor’s and twenty Master’s degree graduates received diplomas with honours.
“Among the graduates who defended their diploma projects, I can single out the final qualifying paper of Elizaveta Chernova. Within her graduation project entitled "Construction of a Residential Building", she considered the construction of an apartment building with built-in premises. Chairman of the State Examination Commission O. Timoshchuk noted the detailed elaboration of the topic, competent presentation as well the graduate’s confident, professional answers," said Elena Aleksandrova, Director of the Institute of Part-Time Studies.
The State Examination Commission has also commended the relevance and practical importance for the construction industry of two qualifying papers written by students at the Department of Management in Construction. Both graduates received honours degrees.
Diana Zagidullina successfully defended her diploma project "Increasing the Competitiveness of a Construction Organization through the Implementation of the Smart House System” (based on the example of IntegStroy LLC). The paper identifies the main reasons why developers refuse to implement the system at their facilities: low interest among the end consumers, lack of experience in operating and maintaining the system, frequency of breakdowns and the need for systematic maintenance. The author proposed a “roadmap” for the development of “Smart Home” systems and the implementation algorithm, as well as recommendations for increasing the company competitiveness with the calculation of the economic efficiency of installing “Smart Home” systems at its facilities.

Konstantin Kuligin's final qualifying paper "Development of Organizational Strategic Decisions Using the OKR Method” (based on the example of Glavstroy Group of Companies) was also highly appreciated by the State Examination Commission. The author of the Master's thesis investigated the essence, methods and tools of strategic management, and developed an algorithm for evaluating managerial decisions. The paper describes the practice of strategic management using the OKR method, which allows to link goals with measurable results, encouraging employees to work together to achieve the overall goal of the organization. In addition, the graduate proposed an assessment of strategic decisions made by Glavstroy managers according to the developed algorithm.

✔ After the ceremony, we asked the graduates to tell about the most difficult things they experienced during their studies and to say a few words of encouragement to prospective students of SPbGASU.
“I am so happy today, because I have graduated from SPbGASU! I would like to wish all applicants to have a lot of energy for working hard. The harder you work during your studies, the more you will know upon graduation, which means you will have more chances to get a prestigious job”, said Daria Dudareva.
“Today is a really important day for me: my studies at SPbGASU are over. The most difficult thing for me was to combine education in two areas of training: "architect" and "civil engineer". Everything else was not so hard to solve. I wish patience and positive thinking to the university applicants!" told Elizaveta Chernova.
Congratulations and best wishes to all the graduates!
