On 28 September, the exhibition hall of the SPbGASU Faculty of Architecture opened the exhibition of the senior lecturer at the Department of History and Theory of Architecture Igor Khramov, “Alone in the City.” The exhibition presents the author's paintings and graphic works.
“I rarely exhibit due to my busy schedule, but in my free time in the studio I always paint. Architecture is quite a multifaceted concept, and that part of an architect, which is akin to creativity and art, is one of the most important for me. An architect is always a creative person. He must be in a creative impulse, and I hope that my creative impulse resonates with you,” said Igor Khramov.
The exhibition reveals three facets of the artist’s works, introducing the viewer to paintings, graphics and works made in mixed technique.
Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Ekaterina Vozniak urged students to follow the example of their teachers and paint in oils, and the teachers themselves to exhibit their own works more often.
The head of the Department of History and Theory of Architecture, Tatiana Zhukova, highly appreciated the teacher’s art.
“The city inspires me. When you are alone in the city, you are freed from the hustle and bustle, strength appears, fatigue disappears, you forget about everything,” shared Igor Khramov.
Igor Khramov is a member of the Union of Architects of Russia. In 1987 he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Leningrad Civil Engineering Institute (now SPbGASU). Participant of more than 20 exhibitions in Russia and abroad. In 2004 he founded his own architectural bureau. Author of more than 30 architectural projects.
The exhibition will run until 16 October.
