International Scientific Conference ‘Transport in Russia: Problems and Perspectives 2018’

On November 13-14, International scientific conference ‘Transport in Russia: Problems and Perspectives 2018’ was organized in Saint Petersburg. More than 300 representatives of transportation science from Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN), other organizations and 15 international scientists took part in the meeting. This event was included in realization of Transport strategy in Russia till 2030 and Complete plan of scientific research ‘Intelligent Multimodal Transport Systems’.

The conference discussed the issues of Russian transportation system functioning and transport needs of people. The participants suggested the ways of traffic safety increase, artificial intelligence development technologies, automation in transport, digital transportation lanes realization, national economics upgrading and innovative development, integration of Russian to world economics system and more.

On November 14, Young Scientists Day was held in Transport Problems Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences under the conference which was interesting to Master and postgraduate students from Russian universities.

SPbGASU presented the following theses:

  • ‘System approach and digital technologies in traffic safety management’ by Pavel Kravchenko, Research Supervisor of Traffic Safety Institute;
  • ‘Efficiency estimation of functioning of administrative violation automatic fixation’ by Aleksey Marusin, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Technical Exploitation of Transport Vehicles;
  • ‘Government control of heavy vehicles and future development’ by Ruslan Safiullin, postgraduate student of the Department of Transport Systems;
  • ‘Determination of driver reaction time on environment change under the influence of alcohol’ by Nikolay Podoprigora and Polina Stepina, Associate Professors from the Department of Land Transport Technological Vehicles;
  • ‘Continuous control approach to ecological requirements to transport’ by Igor Chernyaev, Head of the Department of Technical Exploitation of Transport Vehicles, and Igor Graevsky, Teaching Assistant of the Department of Technical Exploitation of Transport Vehicles.
