From 18 to 20 May, St Petersburg hosted the IV International Transport Festival SPbTransportFest. Like before, SPbGASU took an active part in this event.

At the Exhibition of Innovative Transport, SPbGASU together with LLC "GREEN-TRAK SPb" presented a new development - an electric buggy. It is equipped with a traction electrical installation with a total power of 60 kW (81 hp) and is capable of moving at speeds up to 80 km/h. The vehicle is equipped with all-wheel drive, the peculiarity of which is that the rotation of each wheel is carried out by its own independent electric motor.

The group of buggy developers led by Sergey Vorobyev, Associate Professor at the Department of Transport Maintenance of the SPbGASU Faculty of Automobile and Road Building, included PhD students Oleg Nikiforov, Vitaly Vasilyev, Pavel Razumov, master student Evgeny Trofimov and bachelor student Ksenia Pologova. All of them received diplomas of the scientific and technical creative competition for schoolchildren and students "AutoEvolution-2023", which was held as part of the festival, winning in the nomination "Innovative transport systems" with a competitive work on the topic "Development of design solutions for electric power plants using the example of an electric buggy".

As Sergey Vorobyev said, in 2021, a scientific group of teachers, students and PhD students was created at the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building, which conducts research on electric transport, and also designs and assembles an electric vehicle as part of an interuniversity project to create a Crimea roadster.

The buggy was created in 2022 as a full-size model for studying the operation of the power drive, controllers, working out design issues. In 2023, it passed winter operational tests. After the exhibition, summer tests will take place. From September 2023 to May 2024, it is planned to transfer the electric power line directly to the Crimea roadster.

Bachelor's student Ivan Beshentsev won in the "My Chief Mentor" nomination of the "AutoEvolution-2023" competition. Ivan wrote an essay about his school mentor and spoke at the II International Children's Automobile Forum.

Teachers of our university took part in the business program of the festival.
