The SPbGASU team took third place in the BRICS Future Skills & Tech Challenge 2024 championship in the “Digital Industry” category.
The team included students of the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building Elizaveta Rakhmanova, Maksim Sadovnikov, Vladislav Elesin and Mikhail Muslivets.
BRICS Future Skills & Tech Challenge is an international open championship on promising technologies and skills, held in BRICS+ states. This is a current global event that draws attention to the development of digital technologies and their integration into various industries. 12 teams from the BRICS countries took part in the “Digital Industry” contest, held in St Petersburg, and our students demonstrated a high level of preparation, losing to second place by only three points out of a hundred.
In the “Digital Industry” category, teams created 3D models of enterprises, configured their operation and analyzed the data obtained, essentially creating a digital twin of the enterprise. This technology is actively used in leading industries, such as the Obukhov's plant, and opens up new horizons for optimizing production processes.
“This is not the first time our students have demonstrated high results at international competitions. Previously, they had already taken prizes at championships in Kazan and St Petersburg as part of the Russian Robotics Week, as well as at BRICS distance competitions in March and May this year. This success was achieved by hard work and the pursuit of knowledge: students improve their skills even in their free time.
Our team has ambitious goals ahead. We intend to continue developing, attract more students to participate in such competitions and strive for prizes. Digital manufacturing is one of the most promising areas, and our students have proven that they are ready to be leaders in this area,” said Roman Litvin, Deputy Dean of SPbGASU Faculty of Automobile and Road Building for Research, Associate Professor at the Department of Land Transport and Technological Machines.
