Landscape designers from SPbGASU transform settlements in the Leningrad region
The first stage of the concept of improvement of the village of Villozi, located in the Lomonosov district of the Leningrad region, has been implemented. Students of SPbGASU took part in the development of the concept under the guidance of Svetlana B. Danilova, associate professor of the Department of Architectural Design. We asked the teacher for the details of this work.

“The concept was created taking into account the possibility of a phased and sequential implementation in the course of several years. Such a consistent approach creates the conditions for a competent solution of the whole complex of issues related to the improvement. This includes budgeting, and taking into account the growing needs and involvement of residents in the process; organizing a trustful and constructive dialogue and cooperation between specialists, the administration and the public; multi-functional zoning of territories, replacing networks and utilities, vertical layout, multi-level lighting, comprehensive landscaping, façades repair, re-equipment of container sites for waste collection by modern requirements.
A modern individual image of the environment of the settlement with a harmonious and natural content has been created; it brings the sense of change of life and relaxation.
The identity and the implemented systematic approach to the design of small architectural forms from prefabricated modular elements according to authoring is the result of my generalized design and research activities at the university,” said S.B. Danilova.
A comfortable infrastructure appeared in the village: new playgrounds, modular awnings, thematic landscape compositions, a pedestrian promenade and much more.
The implemented project is currently nominated to the register of best practices and sent to the Ministry of Construction of Russia by the Committee on the HPU of the Government of the Leningrad Region.

SPbGASU develops cooperation with the Government of the Leningrad region and actively participates in the priority program of “Formation of a comfortable urban environment” aimed at transforming urban spaces.
