Made’Ira Dance Team Won the Danceway Festival
The Gaza Palace of Culture and Technology hosted the Danceway Festival international dance competition. The festival has been held in St. Petersburg for the past 7 years. In addition to Petersburgers, it brings onto the stage dance studios from Moscow, Pskov, Petrozavodsk, Vologda, Samara and other cities. Each year, more than a thousand people of different ages participate in the festival. There are various nominations in the competition: from “Dance mix kids”, “Best dance show juniors beginners” to “Best ladies performance solo beginners”, “Contemporary / Modern dance”.Members of Made’Ira group before the performance
The dance group of the St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Construction Made’Ira took part in the Danceway Festival competition.
The girls performed the “Retribution” choreo in the nomination “Contemporary / Modern dance”, competing with the St. Petersburg studios “Dance with me” (choreo “Fitness House”) and “MBStudio” (choreo “Backing down”) and once again showed a high-level dancing: they bore away the bell!
The dance was staged last year, and during their training throughout November, the girls honed the technique and the emotional component of the performance, looking at various production photos, drawings on the theme of the choreo.
“The large stage and excellently exposed light helped us to get used to the room even better and to discover its new facets. We were looking forward to the first place, especially leaving the stage under the stormy applause of the audience. The team members experienced overwhelming joy and pride in the fact that our efforts were adequately appreciated,” Valeria Korobeynikova, participant in the dance group, 3rd-grade student of SPbGASU (training area – civil engineering), shared her impressions.

✔ It is worth noting that in this season, the Made’Ira team participated in and won other competitions, such as:
- XLIV International Dance Art Competition "Life in Motion" (1st and 3rd places);
- "Gold of Autumn" Competition (1st place).
