On June 08, 2016 at the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building of Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering there opened the Military Glory e Gallery “A way to the Victory”, devoted to history of Russian transport troops evolution.
Eleven years ago the idea of a unique Gallery appeared and was implemented during the year of the 60th anniversary of the Great Victory. The project was initiated by associate professor of the Chair of Technical Exploitation of Transport Means, PhD in engineering, associate professor Vyacheslav F. Glazkov. Today the material was renovated by students of the faculty of automobile and road building of Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering. The imitators’ group was headed by vice-dean for training activity of the faculty of automobile and road building Natalya V. Vasilieva.
Gallery sections reflect various stages of transport troops’ evolution in Russia, show the great historic contribution made by the specialists in military automobiles and road-building during the severe blockade period.
“During the first winter of the war drivers passed forty million kilometers of the Life road, transported hundreds of thousands of cargo. One truck saved seven thousand Leningrad citizens, said dean of the faculty of automobile and road building of Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering Sergey A. Evtyukov during the opening ceremony of the Gallery. – “We are pleased that the faculty of automobile and road building is the faculty, which trains specialists both for civil and for military industry”.
