On 26 and 27 October, the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building held the VIII National (All-Russian) scientific and practical conference “Master’s Hearings”. It was traditionally timed to coincide with the founding day of the SPbGASU Faculty of Automobile and Road Building (7 October) and Motorist Day, which this year was celebrated on 29 October.

The main goal of the conference was to provide master’s students with a platform for discussing the results of their research among colleagues and relevant specialists.

The conference was organized in sections “Roads, bridges and tunnels”, “Road and construction machines”, “Vehicles maintenance”, “Transport processes technology” and “Technosphere safety”.

In total, about a hundred reports were presented at the sections. Master's students from SPbGASU and other specialized universities from St Petersburg, Moscow, Perm, Volgograd, Orel, Arkhangelsk, Voronezh, Rostov-on-Don and other cities participated. Nonresident participants could take part in the conference via video link.

Meeting of the transport systems section

Technosphere safety issues were discussed at the conference this year for the first time. They were covered at the plenary session “Innovative technologies of technosphere safety of transport systems”, as well as the corresponding section.

The plenary session, which took place at the Smart Labor training site, included the opening of innovative protective modules (fences) POLYSAFE. Participants went on a tour of the site and a training service station, and got acquainted with a digital analogue of the test site, created using VR technologies.

An interactive master class on providing first aid to victims was held using one of the installations at the training site.

Director of the “Smart Labor” training site, head of the SPbGASU Department of Technosphere Safety Andrey Nikulin expressed confidence that this topic will become an integral part of the next conferences and will develop, including in the context of road transport.

Based on the results of the conference, a collection of reports will be published with indexation in the RSCI.
