From 20 May to 14 June, the II Regional Competition “Information Modeling Technologies in Occupational Safety and Health 2024” was held. Participants, in correspondence format, developed complex labor protection projects using a building information model. Five teams from St Petersburg universities took part in the competition. The best projects of the extramural stage were presented by teams from SPbGASU and St Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) at the SPbGASU training site in Krasnoe Selo. There was also a face-to-face part that went through the stations.

The first station was “Workplace Safety Index”. Participants assessed professional risks in nine interactive training modules using the “Safety Index” application, which was provided by the partners and co-organizers of the competition, the Etalon Group of Companies. The authors of the tasks at the station were Aleksey Zenikov (Director of the Labor Safety Service of the Etalon Group) and Vladimir Sharmanov (Process Engineer of the Labor Safety Service).

The second station was “Providing first aid to victims.” The competition participants were required to provide first aid to a simulated victim who had received an electric shock and was unconscious. The station was prepared and conducted by Natalia Beschaskina, Assistant at the SPbGASU Department of Technosphere Safety.

The third station was “Working at Heights.” Participants selected and used personal protective equipment (PPE) for working at height. The key skill tested in this trial was care and precision in the selection and use of PPE. The station was organized by a representative of the PV LLC "Firm "Technoavia"" at the training simulator of the "Vysota" training ground.

The SPbGASU team took first place in the overall team competition.

At the “Working at Heights” and “Providing First Aid to Victims” stations, students of our university, namely: Aleksey Sorokin, Sofia Tvorogova and Elena Abashina (all third year students in the “Technosphere Safety” direction), became second.

At the extramural stage, the projects by Dmitry Lisov (SPbPU), Zlata Zolotykh and Aleksey Sorokin (both SPbGASU) were recognized as the best works.

In the individual competition, Dmitry Lisov took first place, Vladislav Kosterin and Konstantin Metelsky (both SPbPU) received a diploma for second place, Aleksey Sorokin (SPbGASU) took third place.

Head of the SPbGASU Department of Technosphere Safety Andrey Nikulin and Associate Professor at this department Olga Gorbunova received letters of gratitude from the management of the Etalon Group "for their contribution to the formation and development of a unique TIM design competition in labor protection”.

The “TIM in Occupational Safety and Health” competition was held as part of the SPbGASU development project and the innovative educational project “Modern educational technologies to ensure occupational safety in the construction industry” under the auspices of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, as well as within the framework of a cooperation agreement between SPbGASU and the Etalon Group.
