National Unity Day
Unity Day is an important national holiday in Russia. It is celebrated on 4 November to commemorate the events of 1612, when the people’s uprising led by Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky expelled Polish occupation forces from Moscow.
The uprising brought together representatives of different estates and peoples of Russia. They united their efforts for the common goal of liberating the fatherland from the invaders.
It is an inspiring example for our contemporaries united by the desire for the dynamic development of our country, the preservation of its spirit and culture, and the strengthening of intergenerational continuity. It is an occasion to once again realize and feel that we are one nation.
