On the eve of the Day of Russian Science, we are talking about the dynasties of scientists who have worked at our university. One of the most famous is the Perov dynasty.
Fedor Viktorovich Perov, Associate Professor at the Department of Architectural Design, graduated from the LISI (SPbGASU) Faculty of Architecture in 1979. He worked at the Leningrad Zonal Research and Design Institute for Standard and Experimental Design of Residential and Public Buildings (LenZNIIEP). The Institute dealt with the problems of the Arctic and the North and built the cities of Nadym and Novy Urengoy. In 1986, Fedor Viktorovich returned to his native university as a teacher. In his opinion, young people are showing great interest in the Arctic. Many people want to develop northern cities to make them more modern and comfortable. The topic of Arctic tourism is in demand.
The daughter of Fedor Viktorovich Perov, Aleksandra Fedorovna Eremeeva, graduated from the SPbGASU Faculty of Architecture in 2012 and works at the department together with her father. Under her supervision, students write their final qualifying works on an Arctic topic and travel to the Arctic Circle to see research objects with their own eyes.
“The study of architecture has attracted me since childhood. The family has a large library of architectural publications. It has been collected over several generations. Working at SPbGASU allows you to transfer knowledge to aspiring architects, as well as engage in self-development,” said Aleksandra Eremeeva.
Fedor Viktorovich’s cousin, Aleksey Fedorovich Perov, a senior lecturer at the Department of Architectural Environment Design, who graduated from LISI in 1985, also works at SPbGASU. Aleksey Fedorovich reads the disciplines “Architectural Design Engineering” and “Working Design”. The teacher pays a lot of attention to student participation in competitions held by public and municipal organizations. The purpose of such competitions is to improve people’s living conditions and improve the territory.
The Faculty of Architecture graduated several more Perovs, who dedicated their lives to architecture.:
- Evgeny Viktorovich Perov, brother of Fedor Viktorovich Perov, graduate 1984;
- Denis Fedorovich Perov, brother of Aleksey Fedorovich Perov, graduate 1997;
- Nikolai Alekseevich Perov, son of Aleksey Fedorovich Perov, graduate 2011
The maternal ancestor of Aleksey Fedorovich Perov - Nikolai Vasilievich Vasiliev (1875–1958), graduate of the Institute of Civil Engineers in 1901, author of the St Petersburg Cathedral Mosque and other buildings.
Aleksandra Fedorovna Eremeeva’s maternal ancestor was the architect Adolf Ivanovich Schambacher (1847–1910), the author of several apartment buildings in the center of St Petersburg, who worked for many years in the Department of Institutions of Empress Maria.
