The Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of St Petersburg Aleksandr Belsky announced the winners of the second stage of the elections to the Youth Parliament of the Northern Capital. Of the 150 participants, 64 made it to the next stage, including students of our university: third-year student of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Municipal Services Ivan Baranovsky and second-year master's student of the Faculty of Architecture Aleksandra Polyanskaya.

Winner of the Landscape Hackathon 2022 competition, finalist of Young Design 2022. Participated in organizing the first general elections at SPbGASU and in the creation of a media center at the St Petersburg State Academy of Art and Industry named after A. L. Stieglitz. Initiator of a number of projects, including the improvement of a spring and the creation of an eco-park in Almetyevsk (Tatarstan).

Ivan Baranovsky is actively involved in political and social activities as a volunteer for the "Zashchita" charity foundation, and is also a participant in the Adaptation Trajectory educational project, the Student Russia forum, and the Territory of Success initiative. In 2023, he headed the SPbGASU Situation Center and organized the ambitious Golden Faculty project. In 2024, Ivan became the chairman of the student election commission, where he successfully implemented the first comprehensive elections at SPbGASU and took the post of first deputy chairman of the Student Council. His work on the Open For Students project is aimed at supporting and developing the student environment, providing everyone with the opportunity to realize their potential and achieve success.

To proceed, the participants had to successfully complete a quest, tasks on conflictology, lawmaking, public speaking and other tests. Now, out of 64 applicants, only 32 will be selected – they will be included in the new Youth Parliament.

"When I entered the university, I noticed how interested students were in not only their studies, but also in creativity, social life, and even politics. At the moment, I am part of the SPbGASU Student Council, and I am surrounded by incredibly passionate people. But we are all united by one mission - to make the world a better place. It was this mission that inspired Ivan and me to take the initiative to apply for the Youth Parliament. Now we have entered the most difficult and decisive stage of voting, which will determine who will become part of the Youth Parliament. Your support in this endeavor is of great importance, because we strive for change and are ready to fight for a future full of opportunities," Aleksandra Polyanskaya shared her impressions.

Currently, online voting is underway for candidates to the Youth Parliament of St Petersburg, which will last until 2 December. You can vote for our students on the voting page.
