Dear friends!

Here comes the New Year, the time of bold hopes and faith in the future. By tradition, we celebrate this holiday with the people closest to us. And the chimes, sounding from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad, recall the unity of a huge country that has taken another symbolic step into the future.

The past year has brought new challenges, successes and victories. A milestone was the President’s initiative to update the higher education system in our national interests, taking into account historical experience and the needs of the economy. Very soon, the corresponding pilot project, taking place at 6 leading universities, will launch the renewal process in all universities in the country. The national higher education system will develop not along a trajectory drawn by someone, but along the path chosen by us, our country. I am confident that by joining forces, we will be able to not only achieve all our goals, but also secure Russia’s global scientific and educational leadership for a long time.

The key to this is the major achievements of domestic science. Thanks to the talent of our outstanding scientists, Russia has something to be proud of in terms of the creation of domestic scientific equipment, and in terms of fundamental research, and in terms of advanced applied developments. And the upcoming 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences will be an excellent occasion to remember the contribution of our predecessors, thank those who are working in science now, and attract talented young people to this important field.

On the eve of the holiday, I would like to once again say thank you to all those who teach, research, organize, and ensure this work. I wish you further success in the coming year! Let your loved ones be healthy and happy! May your wildest dreams come true!
