The congress took place from 15 to 17 July and brought together in the Far East about a thousand young scientists from 75 regions of Russia.
The three-day program of the event consisted of 59 sessions, including panel discussions, seminars, team psychological, project and business games. More than 200 speakers participated. Such large-scale events significantly help to involve students in solving the most important problems of the development of society and the country, including the implementation of the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of Russia and initiatives within the framework of the Decade of Science and Technology. The development of horizontal and vertical connections is an important factor contributing to the formation of interdisciplinary projects and teams both within the university and at the regional and federal levels.
“Vladivostok is an amazing city. I was interested to see the local transport system, which has its own characteristics. Participation in the event broadened one’s horizons and knowledge in other scientific fields, since it included sessions on artificial intelligence, biology, and medicine,” Igor Mikhnevich, Chairman of the SSS of the SPbGASU Faculty of Automobile and Road Building shared his impressions.
“The lecture on artificial intelligence (AI) was especially memorable, where there was an opportunity to reflect on the ways of development of AI and its impact on humanity. There was also a meeting of student scientific societies of the Northwestern Federal District. We talked about how the student scientific society can help the state in solving various problems and discussed such modern challenges as logistical impasse, interdisciplinary cooperation, preservation and transfer of the experience of scientific schools,” added Polina Martynova, Chairman of the SSS of the SPbGASU Faculty of Civil Engineering.
At the congress, participants met both young scientists from all over the country and representatives of universities in the Far East. An agreement on further cooperation of student scientific societies of universities in various fields of science: from architecture and urban planning to mechanics and transport, was reached with the Acting Rector of Kamchatka State University named after Vitus Bering, Olga Rebkovets.
