Head of the SPbGASU Department of Metal and Timber Constructions, DSc in Engineering, Professor Aleksandr Chernykh became the laureate of the Ivan Grishmanov award in the field of science, technology and organization of production of the building materials industry, structures and the construction industry.
The award was established by the Russian Engineering Academy to encourage experts who made a significant contribution to science, engineering, professional education, and organization of production of building materials and structures.
Aleksandr Grigorievich was also awarded the Order of Merit in Construction for many years of conscientious, fruitful work, high professionalism, and great personal contribution to the development of the construction industry of the Russian Federation. This is the highest departmental award for construction workers, established by the Russian Union of Builders.
Aleksandr Chernykh is the author of 185 scientific and methodological works, including 9 textbooks and 6 scientific monographs. He has supervised 10 candidates of science. He heads the Association of Wooden House Construction, is a member of the TK-465 subcommittee on wooden structures and a working group for the development of scientific research and regulatory and technical documentation for wooden house construction under the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation.
Aleksandr Chernykh is the initiator and organizer of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Innovations in Wooden Construction”. At SPbGASU he is entrusted with the duties of chairman of the doctoral council for the defense of dissertations in the specialty “Engineering structures, buildings and constructions.”
