Project SAFECON at NOSTROY District Conference
Injury rate at construction sites is extremely high in Russia. According to official data 282 people died at construction sites in 2018. The main reasons of the accidents are human factor and worksite organization inconsistent with safety requirements.
Project SAFECON was presented at NOSTROY District Conference
International Project SAFECON based at SPbGASU is aimed to decrease injury rate at construction sites. The project creates interactive educational environment showing the consequences of on-the-job misconduct. Special teaching methods which have no equals in Russia make safe behavioral patterns among workers.
Project SAFECON started on November 1, 2018 and for the last six months it was mentioned at several events and caused interest from some Saint Petersburg construction organizations.
On April 9, 2019, Vitaly Tsaplin, Head of the Department of Technosphere Safety, Head of Scientific and Educational Centre of Occupational Safety in Construction, introduced project SAFECON to construction organization representatives from Northwestern Federal District at NOSTROY District Conference.
‘The nearest educational environments are located at Espoo and Oulu (Finland), far from enterprises. More than that, they lack individual and cultural approach which would be applied at new Safety Park’.
13 self-regulatory organizations from Kaliningrad, Arkhangelsk, Cherepovets, Syktyvkar, Veliky Novgorod, Pskov, Murmansk, Vologda and Leningrad Oblast towns have participated in the conference. The representatives were interested in the project and exchanged contacts with SPbGASU.
