At Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering there started the ceremonial event, marking the Victory Day. Participation in these events makes the ties between the generations stronger and gives everybody a chance to feel oneself a part of history.
This year the holiday turned out especially kind and warm. According to the long-year tradition at Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering there came veterans of the Great Patriotic War, citizens of siege Leningrad, workers of the back land. Greeting speech was told by Evgeny I. Rybnov, assisting rector of Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering, and Alexander M. Maslennikov, who had taught at the Chair of Building Mechanics of the Faculty of Civil Engineering for many years. Veterans, students, employees and teachers commemorated the memory of killed heroes by a minute of silence and put flowers to monument boards at the balustrade of the main building. At the assembly hall of Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering there was shown a performance, which was prepared by students art teams – studio of modern dance “Made’Ira” (art director – Irina Deeva) and chamber choir (art director and conductor – Olga Kislitskaya). The performance made a great impression on visitors, who applauded to actors.
“This is not simply a holiday, but an opportunity to meet old friends” – said veterans on that day at Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering.
