On 23rd March, 2018 students of the base department of SPSUACE had a lecture about practical application of technologies of information modeling (BIM) of buildings and constructions. The class was conducted by representatives of the company Setl City - the head of the department of innovative technologies Ivan Alekseev and the head of the group of information modeling Alexey Kushnir.

«Information modeling is not a designing tool, - Alexey Kushnir underlined in his performance. It is a process of creation, transfer and use the information which covers all life cycle of a building existence - from the beginning of the project investment to demolition work or building reconstruction».

«At the initial stage your problem is to collect correctly digitized information, to be able to analyze it, to operate it. By means of a number of tools BIM-technology allows to present object quickly, qualitatively and beautifully, to visualize it», - Ivan Alekseev explained to the listeners.

Tthe future experts were told about how information modeling allows to visualize in details all elements of a future building, how in case of changing characteristics in the course of its erection it helps to lower building risks, how it can act as a control tool, about many other possibilities of the system. In their performances lecturers used presentations and videoclips.

 In the conclusion students asked Ivan Alekseev and Alexey Kushnir a lot of questions and thanked them for the interesting class.

Lectures and master classes for students of the base department of SPSUACE created at the initiative of «Association of builders of St.-Petersburg», have been held for three years. Responses of students about advantage of a dialogue with heads and representatives of different spheres of building manufacture serve as acknowledgement of efficiency of such activity.
