Results of the competition for grants for scientific research
SPbGASU summed up the results of the competition for grants for students to perform research work. 76 applications were submitted for the competition in such scientific areas as:
- architecture and urban planning – 12 applications;
- restoration and preservation of architectural heritage – 11;
- construction and housing and utility infrastructure – 19;
- digital transformation of construction and housing and utility infrastructure – 7;
- new materials, designs and additive technologies – 8;
- road complex and intelligent transport systems – 11;
- economic, legal and expert support for the activities of modern society in the context of informatization, digitalization and high-tech development – 8.
The expert commission evaluated the applications according to the following criteria:
- experience of participating in research in the chosen field;
- the number and level of publications in scientific journals;
- the number of reports and communications at conferences, including international ones, on the subject of the study;
- public recognition (thanks, certificates, awards, medals, diplomas);
- the relevance of the planned research, the significance of the expected results and their contribution to the implementation of SPbGASU priority areas of activity;
- interdisciplinarity of the planned research;
- its novelty.
Out of 76 applications submitted by SPbGASU students under the bachelor's, specialist's and master's degree programs, 62 winners were selected by the competition commission.
Aleksandra Zybtseva
The largest number of points (162.67) was scored by the research work of a first-year master student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Aleksandra Zybtseva "Experimental study of the temperature distribution in the soil mass around a single pile." The author considered the impact of the pile foundation on the thawing of the soil around it. Understanding the exact dimensions of the thawed soil will prevent the development of uneven deformations of buildings, as well as the rise of structures in the process of frost heaving of the soil.
Aleлыandra Zybtseva is from Yakutia, she saw the permafrost and construction on it with her own eyes. Aleksandra plans to conduct a series of laboratory studies and a field experiment. As a result of all the work, based on the results obtained, a methodology can be developed to determine the estimated depth of freezing or thawing of the soil near the pile foundation.
“I am motivated and supported by my supervisor, PhD student of the Department of Geotechnics Andrey Vladimirovich Boyarintsev. He has a colossal list of victories in various competitions and grants, this cannot but inspire!” – shared Aleksandra Zybtseva.
We congratulate the winners and wish them further success in science!
