The SPbGASU management, teachers and students were awarded letters of gratitude from the Governor of St Petersburg, Aleksandr Beglov, for their contribution to the organization and conduct of the II All-Russian Youth Arctic Forum “The Arctic: New Generation”. The ceremony took place on 6 June in the assembly hall of Smolny.

“The forum, which brought together active and purposeful young people, became a landmark event for St Petersburg, the largest center of Arctic competencies. It was aimed at realizing the creative potential of young people in solving state strategic tasks of developing the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation,” the letter says.

To recall, on 5 March, SPbGASU students and teachers took part in the II All-Russian Youth Arctic Forum “Arctic: New Generation” at the Museum of Naval Glory in Kronstadt with reports on the main results of SPbGASU scientific and project expeditions to Salekhard and the Kola Peninsula. From 26 February to 20 March, SPbGASU hosted the exhibition “Architecture of the Arctic. SPbGASU” dedicated to the forum. The exhibition presented the results of the university’s work on Arctic architecture, urban planning, and environmental design over the past five years.

Letters of gratitude were awarded to the SPbGASU Rector Evgeny Rybnov, Vice-Rector for Research Evgeny Korolev, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy Irina Lugovskaia, Associate Professors at the Department of Architectural Design Fedor Perov and Aleksandra Eremeeva, master's students of the Department of Architectural Design Viktoria Ivanova, Vitaly Klets and Ekaterina Lachina.
