The head of the SPbGASU student media center Ekaterina Kovalskaya and her deputy Artem Kirbitov visited the Eastern Economic Forum, where they gained experience as reporters and met with the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Valery Falkov.
Ekaterina Kovalskaya and Artem Kirbitov are students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and successfully combine their studies with creative activities. Under their leadership, the media center widely covers student life at the university.
"We gained good reporting experience at the international forum venues. In addition, we talked to government officials, company executives and experts from various fields. We also took advantage of the good opportunity to talk about our university, its fields of study, excellent conditions for study and extracurricular activities," said Ekaterina Kovalskaya.
According to her, one of the brightest and most memorable events was the meeting with the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Valery Falkov. The students said that his high assessment of the media centers' activities was a good incentive for further work. "Valery Nikolaevich emphasized that we cover serious issues and speak to students in our own unique language, noticing what others do not see. That is why the student media center is so popular. Such words stimulate. He also noted the role of the Far East in international relations with China, India, and other countries of Southeast Asia for many decades to come and drew attention to the importance of mastering oriental studies at universities," Ekaterina Kovalskaya shared.
She added that the students got a lot of positive emotions from participating in the forum, since such events provide new acquaintances with interesting people, including students from other universities who have similar goals, views and so far just as little experience in reporting, and therefore studying together is more interesting and effective.
